Mikey Snot Is Great
1976

March 10, 2007 - Buzz Fugazi
I'm standing in the cold at a bus stop on West Howard Avenue in Rogers Park. I've got my cutting edge technology, a cherry red ball AM radio on a chain. The space age dial is tuned to WLS and Boston's More Than A Feeling bursts through the low fidelity. The layered pop smooth guitar fuzz and Brad Delp's voice cut through the night. My spirit soars like the domed space ship guitar city logo...

For a 12 year old rock 'n' roller this is the first music that isn't borrowed from an earlier generation, not a holdover sound.

It is brand new just like me, the soundtrack to my early awakening.

The all I want is to have my peace of mind ethic lost a lot of its vogue in popular culture, but Brad's voice carried it to me and when you measure integrity vs. despair, it's something to be grateful for.

Thanks, Brad. Rest In Peace.
